A Modern Classic Residence in New Delhi By Pramod Group

Pramod Group’s design intent for this 2,340-square-foot apartment in New Delhi was a well-defined one — a home that never goes out of style. Classic and contemporary, old and new… this project creates a sophisticated look with carefully-selected pastel hues; curated furniture and furnishings; and hand-picked artworks, lighting fixtures, and accessories.

What adds warmth and soul to the apartment is its interaction with nature, with the windows connecting the residents to the surroundings, besides flooding the interiors with natural light.

One steps into the large free-flowing living-dining space which is visually connected by two elements/materials: a wall-panelling featuring Fumed Oak veneer, and the flooring laid out in impressive Botticino Marble. The living area is a place for entertainment and relaxation with the family and sees furniture pieces that facilitates conversations and unwinding.

A sink-in contemporary L-shaped upholstered sofa, a large wooden coffee table with metal legs, and modern pouffees form the main furniture pieces here. A lovely blend of soft hues in curtains from Seasons Furnishings is complemented by the striking cushions sourced from Sarita Handa, and a rug from Jaipur Rugs.

An extension of the wall-panelling is noticed on the entertainment-cum-display unit with glass shelves that showcase accessories from Ikka Dukka, Home Artisans, Pure Home Living, The House of Things, and Veda Homes. The living dining is visually broken with the introduction of a lovely wooden console/cabinet from The House of Things depicting the print of a verdant forest.

To correspond with the console/cabinet, a large black and white print of a lush forest features on the wallpaper that forms the backdrop for the dining set-up. A wood and veneer dining table with upholstered chairs and a contemporary wood console are the furniture pieces in this setting. A stunning lighting fixture comprising of a cluster of bulbs was sourced from Ivanka Lumiere to highlight the dining table. The modern kitchen was custom-designed for this project with a beige-hued laminate from Rehau and a Karara Extra stone countertop.

The four bedrooms in the residence are created for the comfort of their users and reflect their design needs. The highlight of the master bedroom is the bed-back wall featuring a bespoke printed fabric panelling that transports the user to a serene land. The other three bedrooms have tailor-made upholstered beds, cabinets, and side tables. Additionally, the residence also accommodates a home office with a working desk, chairs, and sleek cabinets and shelves.
